‘Mark’ started out as a concept about how individuals make their marks on the world. In particular, it focused upon the application of a mark to skin. Not just the application of paint to fingers to paint the surface, but in light of tattooing. 

Many choose tattoos as a symbol or remembrance of some aspect of their lives. The inspiration for this, as a tattoo, came from the eagle; symbolic of our nation. The ‘Mark’ of our nation. In this case, the thought for a mark for a character cousin; who stood for what the eagle stands.
