Birch Trees was made using one of the artist's favorite techniques: paint n' pour on plastic with masking tape. The masking tape was seeped through, creating the effects of bark or marks on the bark of the trees, as well as the tree outlines themselves. 

"The paper was first introduced to masking tape in certain areas, then was laid face flat upon a sheet of plastic. Finally, a watered down paint and pour was used."

Left to dry overnight or so, Tiffany then lifted the work up to then take off some of the tape, which gives us what we see now.
